The UR-FREAK is the result of an intriguing collaboration between Urwerk and Ulysse Nardin, two Swiss watchmakers renowned for their distinctive approach to watchmaking, technical innovation and unconventional creativity.
The watch incorporates several defining features of Ulysse Nardin’s legendary Freak, including its crownless construction, silicon technology and an efficient patented automatic winding system.
Urwerk, meanwhile, brings some of its own unmistakable design signatures to the collaboration, including a titanium architecture and luminous Super-LumiNova tracks.
Measuring an imposing 44 mm in diameter, the watch is crafted from sandblasted titanium in an anthracite-grey finish. Rather than featuring a conventional dial, the UR-FREAK offers an unobstructed view of its intricate, three-dimensional mechanical architecture.
In the absence of a traditional crown, the redesigned bezel is used to set the time, preserving one of the Freak’s most recognizable technical and aesthetic characteristics while giving it a distinctly Urwerk interpretation.
